From its debut performance of 26.3 percent, Rosalinda generated a 28.9 percent rating the next two nights—July 7 (Tuesday) and July 8 (Wednesday)—to move to third place. Last night, July 9 (Thursday), its rating rose to 31.9 percent and climbed up again to No. 2.

The battle for daytime supremacy is so tight between Wowowee and Kambal Sa Uma that they ended up in a draw. This is based on the latest overnight ratings of Taylor Nelson Sofres (TNS) among national households.

Wowowee took the top spot last July 7 (Tuesday) while Kambal Sa Uma grabbed the lead last July 8 (Wednesday). Yesterday, July 9 (Thursday), the two ABS-CBN shows tied for first place.

Only You and Tayong Dalawa both bested GMA's new soap remake "Rosalinda." In the ratings collected last July 6, Rosalinda got a TNS rating of 23.1%, while ABS-CBN shows Only You got 34.7% and Tayong Dalawa with 33.5%.

With this, ABS-CBN got a nationwide audience share of 48%, while GMA got 34%.

July 6, 2009 AGB Mega Manila Ratings

Rosalinda premiered on Philippine television last night, July 6, with a modest 26.3 percent to rank sixth in the primetime race. This output is relatively lower compared to the pilot episodes of the Kapuso network's high-profile primetime shows; like Encantadia (40 percent), Darna (47.1 percent) and Dyesebel (44.9 percent).

Rosalinda's premiere episode, which ran for almost an hour, was pitted against ABS-CBN's Only You and Tayong Dalawa. Both Kapamilya programs rated higher than the new Kapuso show. But hopes are still high for Rosalinda to improve its rating as the show progresses.

GMA-7 regained the top spot in the primetime race, thanks to 24 Oras, which generated a 32.3 percent rating. ABS-CBN's Tayong Dalawa was a close second with 31.7 percent.

ANC to air live coverage of Michael Jackson's memorial

ABS-CBN News Channel, or ANC announced that it will air a live coverage of Michael Jackson’s memorial service, which will be held at the Staples Center arena in LA, California.

ANC’s special coverage will be broadcast from 12:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. Wednesday. It will be anchored by Ces Drilon ang guest Gary Valenciano.

Singers Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Usher and Lionel Richie, Motown records founder Berry Gordy, civil rights leader Al Sharpton, Martin Luther King III, and basketball stars Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant will be among those taking part in Jackson's memorial on Tuesday (US time).

Major networks and entertainment channels in the United States and across the globe are expected to cover the massive memorial service.

July 3-5, 2009 AGB Mega Manila Ratings

Are You The Next Big Star? might have the best singers today, but it lacks a certain factor for a reality show. Last July 4, GMA's singing competition registered a rating of 15.2%. Its competitor Singing Bee, meanwhile posted a higher rating of 16.3%.

Maricar Reyes' Gaano Kita Kamahal, which premiered yesterday, debut successfully with a rating of 13.2%, versus Dear Friend's 12%.

All My Life, meanwhile, failed to impress Mega Manila viewers last Friday, as Boys Over Flowers still rule the 6pm timeslot with 21.4%.

35th Metro Manila Film Festival

The official entries in the 35th Metro Manila Film Festival have been announced last July 3 by the MMDA.

Vic Sotto will have another movie at the MMFF for the 8th consecutive year, titled "Ang Darling Kong Aswang".

Star Cinema movie "Ikaw Na Nga", will star Kris Aquino, Eugene Domingo and Kim Chiu.

Three Regal Entertainment Films entries will be competing in the 2009 MMFF, namely "Nieves: The Engkanto Slayer" starring Marian Rivera; the eleventh installment of "Shake, Rattle and Roll"; and the sixth installment of "Mano Po".

GMA Films is back in the game with its movie remake of "Ang Panday" which stars Bong Revilla Jr. and Iza Calzado.

Willie Revillame and Dolphy are set to do a comedy film titled "Juan", while Manny Pacquiao will be doing a film titled "Wapakman" starring Nicole Scherzinger and Batista.

The primetime supremacy in Mega Manila area is slipping away from GMA-7.

The last three days, June 30 to July 2, saw two ABS-CBN shows occupying the top slot in the primetime race: Tayong Dalawa (June 30 and July 2) and May Bukas Pa (July 1).

Although the Top 10 is equally divided between ABS-CBN and GMA-7 with five shows apiece, the Kapamilya network has two or three shows in the Top 5: Tayong Dalawa, May Bukas Pa, and Only You.

July 1-2, 2009 TNS National Ratings

Willie Revillame's noontime show Wowowee was toppled by the afternoon soap Kambal Sa Uma as the No. 1 daytime program. The Shaina Magdayao-Melissa Ricks starrer consistently rated higher that Willie's program the past 2 days, from July 1 to July 2.

The primetime race is still dominated by ABS-CBN programs, with May Bukas Pa leading the charge. The other slots in the Top 5 are being occupied by the following Kapamilya shows: Only You, TV Patrol World, Tayong Dalawa, and Boys Over Flowers.
